Dear Graduates,
I will be sending the second batch of personal data forms to Human Resources tomorrow afternoon. These name changes are primarily needed by those whose information on the RSVP page directly affects how their names will be called as they cross the stage (e.g., your name is misspelled Kelly instead of Keely, your maiden name is listed, or you only have an initial for a middle name). The name change is not as necessary for those of you whose names are capitalized incorrectly (Larue instead of LaRue) or punctuated incorrectly (ONeill instead of O'Neill) as long as it does not affect the pronunciation of your name. If you need to correct your name in the system, come to my office in room 26 of Alumni Memorial Building prior to Wednesday, April 16 and please bring your social security card with you for verification.
I will send students' forms on 4/4, 4/11, and 4/16. According to Human Resources, the change will take about four business days to process.
To find out if your name has been corrected, wait the four business days and then log back into the RSVP page at http://www.artsci.utk.edu/commencement/rsvp.asp. If the change has processed, your name should appear in correct form, and you should click "Submit" to overwrite the incorrect information previously submitted from your original RSVP. (Don't worry--it will not result in your submitting multiple RSVPs.) If the incorrect information is still listed when you log in, please contact me.
