Sociology Professors Awarded Grants from Fulbright Scholar Program
Neal Shover and Jon Shefner of the sociology department have been awarded grants from the Fulbright Scholar Program. Shover spent three weeks in Sweden in March on a Fulbright Senior Specialist Grant, lecturing on white-collar crime at Umea University and working with faculty there on two writing projects. Shefner, who also is director of the Interdisciplinary Program in Global Studies, will go to Ecuador next year as part of the Fulbright Traditional Scholar Program. Shefner will study "Economic Stabilization and Political Change: Lessons from Ecuador" at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar in Quito, Ecuador, from March to July 2008.
