Sally Horn (Geography) Gives Invited Lecture in Costa Rica

Professor Sally Horn of UT Geography was the invited speaker for the September 1 inauguration of a new program of research at the Universidad Nacional Estatal a Distancia in Costa Rica.  She lectured in Spanish on "Clima y Cambio Ambiental en Costa Rica: Historia y Posibles Implicaciones Para El Futuro"  (Climate and Environmental Change in Costa Rica: History and Possible Implications for the Future).  Her talk generated a large audience and a half dozen newspaper and television interviews.

Sally has been conducting research in Costa Rica since the 1980s, working with several established Costa Rican scientists and with students and faculty from the University of Tennessee.  She was invited in part to help new investigators in Costa Rica make connections with foreign researchers and funding agencies.
